Walden

October 25, 2014

I was reading a story called Walden by Henry David Thoreau. I must say I found it about as interesting as watching paint dry. It was basically an account of his life while living in a house by a pond, and a very uninteresting one at that. I'm not saying it wasn't written well or anything like that. I'm just saying I would rather watch golf all day than read that story again. At least in golf there is a chance of something exciting happening. After the first 5 or 10 pages I had to literally force myself to turn to the next page and keep reading. He talked about sitting and watching birds fly in circles and spending his day more like the animals do. Sounds like this guy needed a hobby, and needed one badly. By far the most boring and uninteresting story I've read so far for this class. Would not recommend it to anyone.

  1. I tried to read that but it was hard for me to get into it. I want to try and read it without having to do it fr English class as an assignment. I have heard good things about Walden andfrom what I have read so far is rather soothing and calm from reading what Thoreau had grown up doing at his cabin in the woods in the cool and calm winter.
