Recently I read some poetry by Edgar Allan Poe. It has been quite some time since I had read anything by him. I had forgotten just descriptive and.....well dark he was. In The Raven his dark and kind of creepy side really comes out. Makes you wonder what kind of mood he was in, or what kind of circumstances he was dealing with at the time he wrote it. What's even crazier is that I like it! He was a very talented writer, and he knew how to get his point across. The detail in which he goes to describe a room, place, or view is unreal. He really makes you feel like you're there, standing in the place he is telling you about. It's really amazing. I feel that everyone should read something of his at least once. You won't regret it.
